Non toxic, environmentally friendly & aromatic

Non toxic

Natural products are still highly effective when properly applied. Helping you enjoy your yard with your family is the #1 priority in this business, and natural products align with that goal more than chemical pesticides. Safe to spray around people, plants and pets. The product kills at all stages of the lifecycle. Future egg cycles are also interrupted, eradicating future outbreaks over time.

Environmentally friendly

Natural products won’t harm the environment. Chemical pesticides have the potential to cause damage to off-target organisms and contaminate ground water. Natural spray treatments have no harmful effects when used as directed.

Pleasant fragrance

Your yard will have a pleasing aroma for hours after your treatment, but the effects on controlling mosquitoes will last for up to 4 weeks.

Safe for pollinators

Doesn’t harm bees and butterflies

Cedarwood oil, the main ingredient in your natural spray applications targets mosquitoes by disrupting their octopamine-based pheromone systems, leaving bees and butterflies unaffected since they use different neurotransmitters.

Pyrethroids, which are most commonly used in synthetic mosquito control treatments will continue to kill beneficial insects when they land on treated foliage or flowers long after the initial application.

Thoughtful application

Treatments focus on shrubs and non-flowering landscaping, avoiding direct spraying on blooming flowers and shrubs to ensure that pollinators are not harmed by the high-powered mist blower.

Mosquito control process

Targeted areas

You’ll have a full barrier treatment done, with additional focus on areas commonly used by family members or pets. Specific problem areas where mosquitoes tend to hang out will be targeted. Many of these areas also attract ticks and may include standing water, brush, leaf or wood piles, grass clippings, dense vegetation, stone walls and debris. Extra attention will be focused in these areas and recommendations may be provided for addressing any areas of concern.

No rushed jobs

A common complaint about other companies is that their technicians do one quick pass and are gone in less than 5 minutes. That’s not the kind of service you’ll get with Eco Turf & Tick. All areas will be treated thoroughly.

Re-entry

It’s recommended to let the treated area dry before allowing children and pets back in so a drying time of 20-30 minutes is advised. The same product is also available as a personal protection spray for use on skin and clothing which shows how safe it is. While not toxic, it can cause minor irritation in cats and dogs if they come into contact with it while it’s still wet.

Rain resistant in 30 minutes

The spray will kill any mosquitoes it makes contact with, they generally die over the next 24 hours. For the next 3-4 weeks it will continue to function as a repellent, keeping new mosquitoes from entering the area. It’s still effective after it rains, as long as it has some time to dry first, around 30 minutes.

For mosquito control specifically, the undersides of leaves are sprayed, which are where mosquitoes tend to be, which are not getting rained on directly. A natural spreader sticker is also added to enhance it’s resistance to rain.

Controls other pests as well

An added benefit to mosquito control is that it will also reduce the presence of gnats, and also protect your shrubs from pests, such as aphids.

Facts about mosquitoes

Standing water

Standing water in yard attracts mosquitoes

Mosquitoes lay their eggs in any standing water. This doesn’t need to be a pond or natural bodies of water, but even sources like tires, bird baths, children’s toys left outside, tree stumps, etc.

Tall grass

Just like ticks, mosquitoes enjoy the shade and moisture of tall, un-mowed grass.

Gutters

Out of reach for many predators and often overlooked, clogged gutters provide a great damp environment for mosquitoes.

Trees & shrubs

Mosquitoes prefer areas that provide shade and humidity. Trees, shrubs and thick vegetation all provide a favorable environment for mosquitoes and ticks.

Under decks

The shady, damp area beneath your deck can be a breeding ground for mosquitoes and fleas.

Yard debris

Grass clippings, leaf piles, brush piles, garden debris all provide shelter for mosquitoes and ticks. Getting this debris out of your yard will help make your home less inviting for mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes have short lifecycles, living about 2-3 weeks, and reproduce rapidly in any sources of standing water.
